Grilled Up - Student Animated Short Film (2023)
This project was made during GIGAJAM 2023 which is a 36-hour creative competition hosted by the A&M chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH.

Creating Billy - Character Design
For the theme of Gigajam 2023 we thought it would be funny to make it not so literal and have a regular person who appears to be intimidating be a really nice guy just flippin' some burgers in the air. My main inspiration were BBQ cookouts and the stereotypical American cook that doesn't have their eyes showing, similar to Flint Lockwood's dad from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Coloring / Animation
For this sketch of smoke I was playing around with how much time it would take to finish. Since for most of the beginning smoke is shown I realized it would be too much time to spend on it since I also had to animate the rest of the shots for the short.
Instead of going for the outlined smoke, I instead focused on making it as simple as possible to save time for the 36-hour competition.
I animated shot 03 and added the smoke animation on shot 04 to be colored.
For shot 05 and 06 I was in charge of doing the Rough Animation and Line Art for both as well as applying color.
For the final shot, I was in charge of coloring it.
