Modeling & Lookdev - Marshmallow Fellow

Hot Mess would be my first time modeling a character that would be shown on screen, so I needed to understand topology early. I modeled the hero assets, being the Marshmallow Fellow, his Bottle Cap Hat, and his Leaf Backpack.

Coming from the point of view of a marshmallow stuck in the forest, the only materials he'd really be able to find are leaves, loose buttons, sticks and maybe some scrap fabric.

For the character's designs, we went through different iterations in terms of how the final Marshmallow Fellow was going to look. I had the idea of him being a hitchhiker and collecting various man-made objects like twine and soda bottle caps. At first he had no stick twigs for arms and instead was all one shape. Since I wasn't experienced with rigging just yet we decided it'd be best if he had sticks for limbs as it also played on the role of a marshmallow being a smore as well.
